Conference on World Mission starts in Arusha

A joyous atmosphere marked the opening of a week-long conference on world mission in Arusha, Tanzania, on 8th March, 2018.

The conference, organized by the World Council of Churches (WCC) with the theme “Moving in the Spirit: Called to Transforming Discipleship,” has gathered representatives of mainline Protestant, Orthodox, Roman Catholic, Evangelical, Pentecostal, and African-instituted churches.

The first African Moderator of WCC.

Rev. Dr Olav Fykse Tveit,
General Secretary of WCC.

Bishop Dr. Fredrick Onael Shoo,
ELCT Presiding Bishop,
led the opening service.

Rev. Najla Kassab, from the World Communion of Reformed Churches,
gave the sermon.

Rev. Dr Mutale Mulenga-Kaunda,
the Keynote speaker.

A performance by youth encouraging peace in the society.
