Putting the batteries

The batteries are very important in a solar system.

They store the energy from the sun and deliver the power to the transmitter at night, when most people are listening.

Since the battery has to supply power for three rainy days, it hase to be quite large.

There are 4 banks of batteries each having 24 Vols and a capacity of 400 Amp hours.

Here on the pictures Esra is filling the Cells with Sulphuric Acid.

The studio staff helped to carry the big battery cells to the booster and to lower them into the chamber in the mast base.
