Very sharp filter eliminating the splatter problem

Quite some weeks ago we got the message from our watchman, that a very strong storm has bent the collinear antenna on top of our antenna mast at Arusha transmitter site.

Since the antenna was still working we decided to build another stronger one first and to replace it then.

It also should be prepared to handel a higher level of power than the existing one.

When we reached the top of the Kivesi mountain we saw the demage the storm has done. Up to now none of those collinear antennas had been bent like that!

We hope that the new antennas will not be demaged again so quickly.

Now it would be great, if we could increase also the power of the station from 100 to 1000 Watts, since all other stations are using at least that power!

So we will try hard to get such an amplifier now!

After replacing the antenna, we also replaced the telemetry unit which reports the condition of the station every 5 minutes to the studio in Moshi.

The next problem had been strong splatter into the program path from a nearby transmitter station.

This problem could be solved by a very sharp filter we received from Germany as an donation. Thank you so much for all!!
