The Lugala Hospital is located more than 150 km away from the next diesel filling station. In the rainy season for many weeks every hear a river in between is impossible to cross by a four wheel drive car.

System design:

56 Siemens SM 55 modules are connected in 14 banks, 4 each to produce 48 Volts. ( 3080W peak power)

The battery consits of 24 single cells, each having 700 Ahours.  (total 33,6 kWh)

The 48V regulator was made by Siemens together with the AC-inverter conneted to the battery
