Purpose:    To receive and retransmit an FM-Radio programme

Location:     On the slopes of Kilimanjaro, close to Kidia, 2500m above sea level

Design:

Power consuption:  3 Amp/48Volt 24 h         ( 3456 Wh/day )

Solar Panels:          40 pcs. SM55 PV modules  ( 2200 W peak, abt. 8800W7day )

                              Connected in 4 banks, each one having 24Volts

Solar regulators:        4 pcs. Siemens/Altonic SR20 (20 Amp/24V)

Batteries:                 4 banks, 12cells with 400Ah each  ( 4 * 9600Wh=38.4kWh)

                               In order to get 48 Volts two banks are connected in series!

Power Back-up:        Diesel generator (Best Power)  4kVA/48 Volts

Note:  During generator operation the MOS-swithch of each solar regulator needs to be briged not to be destroyed by the high current of the generator!
