During his stay in Germany, the director of the Bible School Mwika saw many solar systems to be erected on school buildings for teaching purposes. Returning to Tanzania the school got a solar system sponsered, to be installed in the library. The library got seperated by public power supply and ran just on that solar system.

Design:

6 Siemens SM55 modules are connected in 3 banks, each 24 Volts. (330 Watt peak)

4pcs.   260 Ah batteries store the energy for the periods without sun.       (12.48kWh)

A Siemens solar controller SR 12 prevents the batteries to be over charged

The lightig system of the library is connected to the batteries via an Sine wave inverter Siemens SIN 600 (600 Watts).

This inverter automatically senses if one ore more of the lights is switched on and delivers 230V when needed.
