Alphonce working on a SIN 600 |
First every one sitting in the library had to
learn to switch the light off when not really needed. Nevertheless often the system shut off at night due to low batteries. So the ceiling mounted tube lights got replaced by energy saving bulbs hanging over the reading tables. But those did not give enough light to read, until they got the right shades to reflect the light down. The system showed its strenth especially during the times when the publich power supply went off frequently. During the rainy season, during the dark weeks (July-August), the system was unusuable, and the library was connested to public power supply again. Unforunately the charger supplied with the system was for 15V only instead the system voltage of 24 Volts. This made it difficult to keep the batteries charged during rainy seasons. During some period of time the inverter refused to work. Opening it in the workshop revealed the problen: Small mice squeezed themselvs through a 3mm gap at the bottom of the inverter, and build their home inside of it (nice warm)! Of course they cut all the wiring inside the inverter. Fortunately we got good assistance from Siemens to get a wiring diagram to redo the wiring again of the inverter.
